McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has been given a reprimand following practice today for Sunday's F1 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The stewards made the decision after Hamilton crossed the white lane at the pit entry in the second session. The incident occurred around 40 minutes into FP2 when he came around the final corner and went wide as Bruno Senna eased off. Hamilton then cut straight in front of the Hispania Racing car before entering the pits.
Speaking after the session, in which he set the pace and topped the times on a 1m 40.888s, the F1 2008 world champion, said it was just a bit of a mix up.
"My visit to the stewards was just to explain what happened out on track with Bruno," Hamilton reflected.
"It was a bit of a misunderstanding: he was trying to start his lap, and I was trying to come into the pits. I'll go and speak to Bruno now to make sure everything's cool," he added.
