Lotus announces GP2 contenders for young driver test

F1 2010 newcomer Lotus Racing has revealed that GP2 Series duo Rodolfo González and Vladimir Arabaindzhiev will try out for the team in the upcoming special post-Abu Dhabi young driver test at Yas Marina
F1 2010 newcomer Lotus Racing has confirmed its driver line-up for the forthcoming young driver test in Abu Dhabi, with GP2 Series duo Vladimir Arabaindzhiev and Rodolfo González set to take to the track at Yas Marina at the wheel of the team's Cosworth-powered T127.

Bulgarian ace Arabadzhiev has climbed the ranks through Italian F3, Euroseries 3000, the International Formula Master Series and now GP2, where he competed for Coloni although failed to score any points.

González, for his part, began his racing career in Formula Renault UK, going on to triumph in the British F3 National Class in 2006 and finishing just outside of the top ten in the championship's main class the following year with T-Sport. After a stint in the F3 Euroseries, the 24-year-old Venezuelan stepped up on to GP2, in which he has raced sporadically ever since, with a best finish of fourth for Arden International at Spa-Francorchamps earlier this year.

“We are very pleased to have confirmed that Rodolfo and Vladimir will be driving for us in Abu Dhabi,” remarked Lotus Racing CEO Riad Asmat. “They both come from countries with growing interest in motorsport, and the chance to give emerging drivers the opportunity to step up to F1 is central to the Lotus Racing philosophy of embracing young talent. Everyone in the team is looking forward to working with them over the two-day test, and I am delighted we could give them this opportunity.”
