Sutil closes on Force India deal

Adrian Sutil set to sign new deal to stay with Force India for the 2011 F1 season
Adrian Sutil is set to stay with Force India for the 2011 F1 season although a deal for the German to remain with the team has yet to be signed.

Sutil has been linked with a move elsewhere, most notably Renault, but with Vitaly Petrov set to extend his deal [See separate story HERE], remaining with Force India appears to be the best option for the 2011 campaign.

Speaking to the Auto Motor und Sport 'paper, Sutil's manager Manfred Zimmerman revealed that a 'fundemental agreement' is in place for the new season with the deal expected to be formally signed in the coming weeks.

"Once a contract is signed, we will announce it," he said. "This should happen within the next two to three weeks."

Sutil's team-mate Tonio Liuzzi has a deal in place for 2011 although rumours continue to circulate that test driver Paul di Resta is chasing a race seat.

If VJ wants to move his team up the grid (and I'm sure he does) he could simply achieve this by off-loading both Sutil and Liuzzi. New driver line up - Di Resta and Hulkenberg. Now that would be worth watching.. otherwise it will be just another snorefest at FIF1 for 2011.
