Costa joins FDA

Nicolas Costa: All drivers would love to drive a Ferrari and I still cannot believe what has happened. Being able to count on the backing of such a professional team is a dream come true.

Nicolas Costa is to join the Ferrari Driver Academy after he won the first-ever Formula Future Fiat Championship.

The 19-year-old clinched the honours in the new Brazilian series, which is backed by Felipe Massa, last weekend, following the final two rounds held at the Santa Cruz do Sol international circuit.

Costa eventually ended the season with 116 points, edging out Francisco Alfaya by just one point.

“All drivers would love to drive a Ferrari and I still cannot believe what has happened,” said the youngster from Rio de Janeiro.

“Being able to count on the backing of such a professional team is a dream come true.”

Costa's addition to the FDA takes the total number of drivers' in it to eight, including Jules Bianchi, who last month was appointed as the team's official test driver.
