Piquet Jr to do full NASCAR season in 2011

Piquet: I am very excited to join KHI and to drive in the Truck Series. I look forward to combining what I have learned this year from running five races in the series with the professionalism and experience of the KHI organisation.

Former Renault F1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr will compete full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series next year, it was announced this week.

The 25-year-old has inked a deal to join Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI). Further details regarding his programme will be released at a later date.

“I am very excited to join KHI and to drive in the Truck Series,” said Piquet, who made his NASCAR debut in the Truck Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway back in February, finishing sixth overall.

“I look forward to combining what I have learned this year from running five races in the series with the professionalism and experience of the KHI organisation.

“I want to thank Kevin, DeLana and everyone at KHI for this opportunity. I am looking forward to our partnership and I can't wait to get out on the track in a KHI Chevrolet Silverado and start winning races.”

“This is a very unique opportunity to have a driver like Nelson be a part of KHI,” said KHI co owner Kevin Harvick.

“In five starts in the Truck Series this season he not only gained valuable seat time but proved himself by getting some solid finishes. We are excited to have Nelson as a part of our Truck Series programme as he takes another step forward in his career."

Hey Skid, NO Fingcheat Alonso, Check NO Flabbio Briatore, Check Looks like the wall is safe from anything pre planned to me.... Listening to the radio this year just drew more attention to the lies, how on earth Alonso could claim innocence in crashgate, when he clearly wants to know every single area of everybody else's business, yet expects us to believe he never questions the bizarre strategy that landed him another cheated win. Again, Alonso exposed as a shameless nasty cheat, and it gets compounded every time Piquet's name is mentioned. I look forward to a long career from Nelsinho, just because it always reminds us all what Alonso is made of.

Hah! So if the 48 is leading Harvick going into the last lap of the race, Piquet can do the right thing and arrange a little crash to take out JJ and hand the title to his boss!!! Great planning everyone!
