Lotus Renault GP goes British

Eric Boullier: We will be running under a British licence now. It means that if we win, we will play the British national anthem.
The Lotus Renault GP team will run under a British licence for F1 2011, it has been announced.

Team principal Eric Boullier confirmed the decision on Thursday at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham, when the Enstone-based outfit unveiled its livery for the coming year.

The change from a French licence to a British one follows Group Lotus' purchase of major stake in the Renault team over the off-season, and Renault's decision to sell its share in the outfit.

“Lotus is an English manufacturer,” Boullier told British broadsheet newspaper, The Telegraph. “We will be running under a British licence now.

"It means that if we win, we will play the British national anthem. And that is important for everybody inside the team. We are rebranding everything inside the company now.”

I would imagine (given time) there will be development filtering through to Group Lotus' road cars. You may hear the British anthem? Enstone are a quality outfit, as is a certain Mr Kubica.
