Ex-F1 men return to Spa 24 Hours

Mark Blundell, Eddie Cheever and Stefan Johansson sign up for the Spa 24 Hours
Former Grand Prix drivers Mark Blundell, Eddie Cheever and Stefan Johansson are to return to the Spa 24 Hours later this year after re-signing with the United Autosports team for the annual Belgian endurance race.

The trio form part of the driver line-up announced by the Audi team, with Mark Patterson, Alain Li, Zak Brown and Richard Dean also set to take part. Five more drivers will be signed up to share driving duties in the three GT3-spec R8 LMS cars being entered by the team in the race.

For Blundell, Spa will be his second outing of the year in United Autosports colours after he formed part of the successful driver line-up in the recent Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“Racing at Spa last year proved to be a huge amount of fun while I was very impressed with United Autosports,” he said. “The team turned out superbly prepared racecars and it was fantastic to finish on the GT3 podium.

“I believe there is some more to come and that is why I'm returning. I've already finished fourth with the team at Daytona last month and I'm very excited about going back to Spa to compete again in the Audi R8 LMS.”
