Don't write off Massa or Schumacher, Vettel warns

Sebastian Vettel: Massa didn't have a good season [in 2010] but no one should underestimate him; it's not so long ago that he was really strong [and almost won the title]. Schumacher's history is too great to write him off as well. I think neither of them have forgotten how to drive.

F1 2010 world champion Sebastian Vettel has predicted that Felipe Massa and Michael Schumacher will both bounce back this season.

Although Massa and Schumacher struggled last year, and were convincingly outshone by their respective team-mates, Vettel believes that is unlikely to be the case again in 2011. Indeed he reckons they will be in the midst of the championship fight, along with the likes of Ferrari #1 Fernando Alonso and McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.

“Alonso for sure [will be one of my main rivals], and Hamilton is without question one of the best drivers,” Vettel said in an interview with Sport Bild.

“Massa didn't have a good season [in 2010] but no one should underestimate him; it's not so long ago that he was really strong [and almost won the title]. Schumacher's history is too great to write him off as well. I think neither of them have forgotten how to drive, and Nico Rosberg has also showed us his strength."

As for his Red Bull team-mate, Mark Webber, while Vettel conceded they are still not 'necessarily on the same wavelength', he knows the Aussie will also be a threat as he looks to successfully retain his drivers' crown.

"If our car is good enough, Mark will get involved again [in the fight for the title]," Vettel added.

I love reading the idiots who try to say they reconfigured the car for Schumacher. Because Rosberg loved driving a car with fundamental weight balance problems did he? Its such a joke that people make out that change was for Schumacher.
