Glock set to miss final F1 test

Timo Glock set to miss Barcelona test after surgery for appendicitis
Timo Glock is set to miss the final pre-season F1 test in Barcelona after undergoing surgery to have his appendix removed.

The German underwent surgery in Switzerland yesterday (Monday) after a sudden case of appendicitis and is now set to miss the Barcelona test as a result.

While the team is likely to field Jerome D'Ambrosio for all four days of running as a result, a decision on whether or not Glock will be in action is to be taken next week.

"The procedure was routine and Timo is recovering well in hospital in Switzerland, where he is likely to remain for a further 24 hours," team principal John Booth told Reuters.

"To ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely that he will take part in next week's test in Barcelona and that Jerome will run on all four days instead."
