Further surgery set for Kubica

Robert Kubica set to face minor surgery on his elbow after rally accident in an effort to aid
Robert Kubica is set to undergo further minor surgery on his elbow as he continues to recover from the injuries he sustained in a rallying accident last month.

The Lotus Renault GP driver was left with multiple injuries when his Skoda Fabia S2000 crashed into a barrier on the Ronde di Andora rally, with the barrier penetrating the cockpit of the car.

Kubica was forced to undergo surgery to save his right hand before further operations on his shoulder, leg and elbow.

According to the Associated Press, Kubica is now set for minor surgery today [Saturday] on his elbow after a specialist at the Santa Corona hospital recommended the procedure to aid his recovery.

News of further surgery for Kubica comes after Renault's team doctor admitted it could be a 'very long time' before the Pole is fit enough to return to an F1 machine [See separate story HERE].
