Defending F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel will be a Red Bull Racing driver for at least another four years, the team has confirmed, with a contract extension that ties the German to the energy drinks-backed outfit until the end of 2014.

Vettel has been supported by Red Bull since 1998 and is a graduate of the Red Bull Junior Team. Last year, the 23-year-old became the youngest competitor ever to lift the ultimate laurels in F1 when he triumphed in Abu Dhabi to clinch the drivers' crown.

It had already been mooted over the weekend that a new deal was in the pipeline [see separate story - click here], and despite persistent speculation that Vettel will one day wind up at Ferrari - prompted initially by an admission from the ten-time grand prix-winner that it would be 'a dream' to race one of the legendary scarlet cars in the future - if the Scuderia does wish to tempt him away from RBR, it now faces rather a wait.

Last year, Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner quipped that he would like to retain his prot?g?'s services until 2028 and that all efforts are focussed upon 'building the team around Sebastian' [see separate story - click here].
