Lotus to conduct Malaysian street demo

Team Lotus to take part in street demo ahead of Sepang race
Team Lotus is to take part in a street demonstration in the administrative capital Putrajaya ahead of next weekend's Malaysia Grand Prix at Sepang.

The event will take place on Saturday and has been organised in collaboration with the Sepang International Circuit and Team Lotus partner AirAsia, with Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli both set to be in action.

The event will be held on a temporary track in front of Malaysia's Palace of Justice, with a Malaysian Super Series parade, a drift demo, a pocket bike and supermotard stunt display and a special AirAsia A320 fly past also planned.

“This will be the first-ever demo in Putrajaya; and this fantastic event is aimed at building the F1 excitement for the fans and to tell them the 2011 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix is coming near,” Sepang International Circuit Chief Executive Officer Dato Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali said. “It is also aimed at creating the excitement of F1 and for greater awareness on the sports; bringing fans closer to the race. We also hope that it would create more interest among the motorsports fans especially at the grassroots.

“The event is also a special way by the team to introduce themselves to Malaysians and to create more awareness for this Malaysian-initiated team.”
