BBC Sport's coverage of the nail-biting, F1 World Championship-deciding 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix around the Yas Marina Street Circuit has been nominated for a Phillips British Academy Television Award (BAFTA).

The Beeb has received four nominations in the sport category for the glittering awards gala - with the opening Wales vs England Six Nations rugby match back in February, Wimbledon 2010 and last year's FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Portsmouth similarly shortlisted for the 22 May ceremony.

The 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was memorable most notably for the diverging fortunes experienced by the three duellists for the drivers' crown. Sebastian Vettel swept to race victory and, against the odds, title glory; Red Bull Racing team-mate Mark Webber failed to perform when the stakes were at their absolute highest; and Ferrari star Fernando Alonso paid the price for spending the majority of the afternoon tucked up behind Renault rookie Vitaly Petrov, making his displeasure with the young Russian known with an ill-tempered shake of the fist on the slowing-down lap afterwards.
