Hulkenberg splits with Weber

Nico Hulkenberg splits up with manager Willi Weber
Nico Hulkenberg has announced that he has parted ways with manager Willi Weber.

Weber had helped Hulkenberg make it onto the F1 grid last season with Williams, only for the team to replace the German with Pastor Maldonado.

Hulkenberg managed to secure a test and reserve role with Force India and has taken part in Friday practice at each event this season as he seeks to return to the grid in 2012.

However, his possible return will come without the help of Weber after Hulkenberg confirmed in a statement that the pair have parted company.

“The 23-year-old Formula 1 driver from now on takes management matters in his own hands,” the statement read. “Both sides are currently working on a smooth changeover and on a satisfying solution for everyone.

“Hulkenberg will from now on be supported in executing his management issues by his former PR advisor Timo Gans.”
