Ferrari's Felipe Massa just made it through to the pole position shootout at the Spanish Grand Prix, two tenths up on Toro Rosso's Sebastien Buemi.
Buemi finished just on the wrong side of the cut-off in Q2, ahead of Sergio Perez's Sauber and his team-mate, Jaime Alguersuari. Kamui Kobayashi will start 14th, while Heikki Kovalainen shined and beat both Force India's to take P15 for Team Lotus. Paul di Resta was the best of the two Force India's, four tenths up on his more experienced team-mate, Adrian Sutil.
At the top of the times, Sebastian Vettel led the way, despite not having the use of KERS. Mark Webber was second, two tenths slower, followed by Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher.
Fernando Alonso, Pastor Maldonado, Vitaly Petrov and Massa rounded out the top ten.
