Vettel wins in Monaco

Sebastian Vettel claims his first victory in Monte Carlo.

Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel comes through to win an incident filled Monaco Grand Prix.

Vettel, who started from pole, eventually finished just 1.1 seconds up on Fernando Alonso, with Jenson Button, who briefly led, also right behind in third.

The race though was full of drama, with the safety car deployed on lap 35 - after Felipe Massa crashed in the tunnel, shortly after being passed by Lewis Hamilton, and it was also red flagged near the end when there was a multiple collision involving Adrian Sutil, Hamilton, Jaime Alguersuari and Vitaly Petrov. Petrov was taken to hospital, but was not injured.

In the end, following the re-start on lap 73, Mark Webber came through and grabbed fourth from Kamui Kobayashi on the final tour, while Hamilton took the flag in sixth ahead of Adrian Sutil, Nick Heidfeld and Rubens Barrichello. The final point went to Sebastien Buemi.

The result remains provisional however, as Kobayashi, Hamilton, Sutil and d'Ambrosio are all under investigation by the stewards.

Sutil is completely to blame for Algursuari (who also should have been punished over Di Resta when he was being passed) and Petrov wrecking.... completely stupid move to race hard with no wheel & multiple cars behind... If I'm Vijay Mallaya, I'd be giving him the pink slip for his incidents this year. Lewis Hamilton was a ******* ***** driving.... pissed off at Schumacher not moving over and almost putting him in the wall at St Devante, then hitting Massa and wrecking his race...damage from that probably put Massa in the wall and there's no damn excuse for him putting Maldonado in the wall. Personally I'd like to see him disqualified for today and sure as hell would love to see him Suspended from the Canadian GP. Clearly he wasn't thinking and he needs to miss a race to realize this because he very easily could have cause a fatality with his driving today.
