Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel set the pace this morning in final practice for the F1 2011 Canadian Grand Prix moving to the top of the times right at the close of the one hour session.

Vettel's best lap was a 1 minute 13.381 seconds, which left him just over three tenths up on the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso.

The session itself was relatively quiet and in contrast to yesterday there was only one accident, right at the end when Pedro de la Rosa, who has been brought in at late notice to sub for the unwell Sergio Perez, lost it exiting turn 3. He escaped unharmed, but his C30 will need a fair bit of work on it now before qualifying.

Nico Rosberg meanwhile was third and led the way for some time in his Mercedes before being bumped down by first Alonso and then Vettel.

Felipe Massa came in fourth, the only other man to break the 1m 14s bracket, ahead of the McLaren's of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton in fifth and sixth, the former complaining of brake problems.

Michael Schumacher was ninth, more than half a second off Rosberg, while Renault's Vitaly Petrov and the Force India's of Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta rounded out the top ten.

Further back Pastor Maldonado took eleventh in his Williams, ahead of Nick Heidfeld's Renault and the Toro Rosso's of Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari.

Kamui Kobayashi, Rubens Barrichello and de la Rosa filled positioned 15 through to 17, with Heikki Kovalainen the led runner for last year's new teams in 18th - four tenths up on the sister Lotus of Jarno Trulli.

Hispania's Vitantonio Liuzzi beat the Virgin of Timo Glock to 19th, while the other HRT of Narain Karthikeyan and Virgin's #2 Jerome d'Ambrosio brought up the rear.

Mark Webber did not set a time in his Red Bull, unable to complete a lap due to KERS issues, which kept the Australian confined to the pits.
