Massa unconcerned by speculation

Felipe Massa says he isn't concerned about speculation over his Ferrari future
Felipe Massa says he isn't concerned about speculation surrounding his future, with the Brazilian insisting it is simply 'part of the job' when it comes to driving for Ferrari.

Massa finished second in the championship standings back in 2008 and came within two corners of securing the drivers title before losing out to Lewis Hamilton in a dramatic season finale at Interlagos.

However, that win in his home event was the last time Massa took to the top step of the podium, with his career being briefly halted by his accident at the Hungaroring before he returned to action in the 2010 season.

So far this season, Massa has failed to finish higher than fifth and has scored just 42 points in the opening eight races – leaving him well behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel.

However, he insisted he wasn't worried that his drive with Ferrari could be at risk, insisting that the pressure he is under was 'good pressure'.

"When you drive for a top team like Ferrari, you always have the pressure," he was quoted by Sporting Life. "It is a team which many people are watching and supporting, so it is normal that you have more pressure - but I think most of the drivers would like to have this kind of pressure, to be racing for Ferrari, so that is a good pressure."

Massa added that his 2009 accident – where he was hit by a part that had come away from the car of countryman Rubens Barrichello – hadn't affected him on track but had given a fresh perspective on life.

"It has not affected me from a driving point of view, because you try to go to the limit, sometimes past,” he said. "Outside, in my life, it has made me appreciate and respect things even more."

Alonso came into Ferrari with Santander money & ousted Kimi because he did not want a competitive teammate, even though he still had a year on his contract. Massa was kept & he will be at Ferrari as long as Alonso is there. Alonso has nightmares of Webber or Button as a teammate, of course his worst nightmare is still having Kimi as a teammate. :)
