Latest F1 championship standings

F1 2011 championship standings post-British Grand Prix.

Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel extends his lead in the battle for the F1 2011 drivers' title following the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, despite having to settle for the runners-up spot.

Vettel now has 204 points on the board - 80 more than his team-mate, Mark Webber. Fernando Alonso meanwhile leaps up from fifth to third in the standings following his victory, 12 points further back. Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button are joint fourth, both having notched up 109.

In the Constructors' championship, Red Bull Racing increases its tally to 328 and goes from being 89 points up on McLaren to 110. Ferrari lies third with 164 points accumulated.

"It ain't over till the fat lady sings." And its good to see teams fighting back- if Ferrari had given up as so many seem to think everyone but RBR should, the numbers would be even worse. That said- it does seem unlikely that Red Bull and Vettel can be stopped this year. Here's hoping they are made to WORK for it by some of the others!
