Fernando Alonso ended Ferrari's barren spell by winning the British Grand Prix on Sunday but despite that second place was still good enough for Sebastian Vettel to further extend his lead in the battle for the 2011 F1 title.
Indeed Vettel is now 80 points ahead and he may well have won again in his Red Bull RB7 had it not been for that slow second stop. That incident was just one of many dramatic moments during the event at Silverstone, which notably also saw McLaren's Lewis Hamilton cling on to fourth despite a thrilling final corner scrap with Felipe Massa.
