Force India in no rush over 2012 line-up

Force India in no rush to decide drivers for the 2012 F1 season
Force India team boss Vijay Mallya says he is in no rush to make a decision about his driver line-up for the 2012 F1 season.

Mallya has made no secret of his desire to keep hold of rookie driver Paul di Resta while Adrian Sutil put his off-track issues this season to one side to secure the team's best result of the campaign with sixth at the Nurburgring.

Force India also has Nico Hulkenberg eager to move into a race seat from his current position of test and reserve driver but Mallya said he was in no rush to reveal who will be his two race drivers for next season.

“It is way too early,” he said in an interview with the official F1 website. “I will announce my driver line-up around December 15th. Not before that. I want all my guys to focus on the job at hand and not start speculating about their future. I made it very clear that I will make my decision around December 15th.”

Mallya again threw his support behind Scot di Resta, who again found himself in the wars in Germany after a clash with Nick Heidfeld on lap one ended his hopes of returning to the points.

“Paul is a massively-talented driver,” he said. “Don't forget he is the reigning DTM champion and he was our reserve driver last year, so we knew what we were getting when we signed him for a race seat. As I said he is a very talented driver and an outstanding human being.

“When Paul started the Silverstone race from P6 he had out-qualified some big names like Lewis Hamilton. But don't forget that Adrian once started from P2 and our highlight clearly remains Giancarlo Fisichella starting from pole position at Spa in 2009. So over the years we have definitely seen some big names behind us and when that happens they are truly special moments.”
