Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has hinted that Daniel Ricciardo will move up to the Red Bull Racing team when Mark Webber elects to call time on his F1 career.
Ricciardo has been put into a race seat with HRT in a deal with Red Bull after the Australian impressed in a series of Friday practice outings with Toro Rosso through the first half of the season.
With Webber expected to put pen-to-paper shortly on a new deal for the 2012 season, any move for Ricciardo into the Red Bull line-up isn't likely until 2013 at the earliest but Marko said he was the most likely option to replace his countryman when he decides his time with the team is at an end.
"Mark Webber will stay with us for another year, and then he will decide what to do in his career," he was quoted in the Italian media. "Red Bull will decide who takes his place, although it is likely it will be Ricciardo."
Ricciardo has finished all three of his races with HRT so far, with a best result of 18th last weekend in Hungary where he finished ahead of both Jerome D'Ambrosio and team-mate Tonio Liuzzi.
