Button to take F1 to Manchester

Jenson Button: Driving an F1 car through Manchester is going to be a unique experience for me. There's a chance for the public to win some great prizes so I hope Manchester is going to be out in force and are looking forward to the bank holiday as much as I am.

Jenson Button will conduct a demo in Manchester later this month, it was announced this week.

The run by the F1 2009 World Champion will take place on bank holiday Monday, August 29, the day after the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamp, the twelfth round in this year's FIA F1 World Championship, with the Englishman due to drive down Deansgate, before turning down John Dalton Street and into Albert Square.

"Driving an F1 car through Manchester is going to be a unique experience for me," Button told the official F1 site.

"There's a chance for the public to win some great prizes so I hope Manchester is going to be out in force and are looking forward to the bank holiday as much as I am."

The demo is part of a three-day event in the city which is being organised by Vodafone, title sponsor of the McLaren team. In addition to Button's run, it is also being reported that the festival will include an F1 fan zone, a go-kart track and an F1 simulator.

Yes Button told the independent that he (Vettel) has already won the title, (the latest from him). In Germany he (Button) conceded that the championship was over for him while a week later he was saying that he had everything to fight for and nothing is over yet. He (Button) should make up his mind once and for all as he is only confirming that at mclaren they are masters of contradictions starting at the very top.
