Narain Karthikeyan has again insisted that he will return to F1 action before the end of the current season with a drive in his home event in India.

Karthikeyan was replaced by Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo on the eve of the British Grand Prix, with Red Bull having agreed a deal with HRT to give the youngster race experience as opposed to just taking part in Friday practice with Toro Rosso.

The deal led to Karthikeyan being ousted from his seat but with India set to join the F1 schedule later in the year, Karthikeyan is set to reclaim his drive for his home event.

"It was always a dream for me to race in Formula 1 and race in front of my home crowd," he said during a press conference to launch ticket sales for the event. "And now thanks to the Jaypee Group that dream is going to be a reality."

However, Karthikeyan appears likely to be the only Indian driver in the race after Karun Chandhok insisted that his appearance for Lotus in the German Grand Prix prior to the summer break was a 'one-off'.
