Work at the new Circuit of the Americas venue near Austin, Texas has resumed after rumours emerged questioning the future of the ambitious project.
Speculation suggesting that a change of management could be close had emerged after construction work slowed but on Tuesday work resumed after contacts were authorise which should cover the remainder of the construction work.
"It was going great guns for a while," Max Chapman, construction manager for the project, told the Austin American Statesman
.. "For the last couple weeks, until we got our bookwork done, it was a trickle, and it slowed almost to a stop the last three or four days.
"We just started back today. That's mechanical, electrical, concrete frame, all phases of the project. It's the last big piece."
Additional soil is set to be trucked in to allow 'fill work' to take place on the circuit, while work on the foundation of the main grandstand is set to start within the next fortnight.
