POLL: Were the stewards right to penalise Massa?

Vote in our latest F1 poll and have your say now on if Felipe Massa deserved a drive-through penalty following the collision with Lewis Hamilton during the inaugural Indian Grand Prix at the all-new Buddh International Circuit.

Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa clashed again on Sunday in the inaugural Indian Grand Prix at the popular all-new Buddh International Circuit, the 17th round in the F1 2011 World Championship.

The incident was the sixth time they have had a coming together this year and unsurprisingly it has done little to improve matters between the two rivals, who haven't been on speaking terms since their last spat in Singapore.

Following the incident and after studying re-plays and telemetry, the stewards opted to give Massa a drive-through.

Unsurprisingly, the Brazilian didn't agree with the punishment [see separate story - click here], while Hamilton himself felt it was probably a 'racing incident' and just 'one of those things', although he did add, 'I really didn't feel like I was at fault' [see separate story - click here].

But what do you think?

Did the stewards get it right?
Was Massa to blame or was it just a racing incident?

On a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being, 'the stewards got it wrong' to 5 being, 'they got it completely right'), have your say now...

No, Absolutely Not, It was a 50/50, Hamilton knew where Massa needed to turn in for that corner and thats why he tried to abort the pass, but it was to late, He caught Massa's back wheel, surely thats enough evidence to show he wasn't far enough along side for him to claim the corner. The penalty was more to do with their history than what happened at that corner. Maybe Mclaren are already thinking of replacing Hamilton with Mr Bean, Well he already drives a Mclaren and was Guest of Mclarens over the weekend, stranger things have happened.

I have been anti Lulu for some time now but this time it was not his fault. He had his car alongside massa just bfore the corner and massa should have conceded to him, that's the way it's meant to be. Sorry but the stewards who awarded the penalty are much wiser than us whether you like it or not, and this time their judgement was correct. Of course lulu backed off a bit when he realised Massa was cutting across him, he was trying to avoid contact. Let's be fair, why doesn't lulu have more collisions with other drivers?
