Stefano Coletti has joined the list of drivers who will take part in the F1 young driver test in Abu Dhabi later this month after revealing a deal with Toro Rosso.
The 22-year-old won twice in GP2 this season driving for Trident Racing but saw his campaign come to an early end when a heavy accident at Spa saw him suffer a fractured vertebrae.
Having returned to action for the recent GP2 test at Catalunya, the Monegasque driver has now agreed a deal that will see him drive Toro Rosso's STR6 in Abu Dhabi – marking his maiden appearance in F1 machinery.
“I'm happy to finally announce that I'll be testing with Toro Rosso in Abu Dhabi,” he wrote on his Twitter
account. "I'm on my way to the Toro Rosso headquarters. Going to make my seat and meet all the guys."
Despite missing three GP2 races following his injury in the first race in Belgium, Coletti ended the year eleventh in the championship standings.
