Top ten F1 Drivers of the Year: 5th

Established as Mercedes number one after seeing off Michael Schumacher in 2010, Nico Rosberg was frustrated not to have been able to build on that position in 2011 – but still landed fifth in your F1 Driver of the Year poll
Top 10 F1 Drivers of the Year 2011:
5: Nico Rosberg

Car: Mercedes-Mercedes W02

Another solid season for Mercedes' younger German, albeit this time without a top three finish to show for it.

Rosberg appeared to have the better of veteran team-mate Michael Schumacher at the start of the year, but was gradually pegged back by the seven-time champion as the season wore on, eventually finishing just 13 points ahead in the standings.

His best results came in China and Turkey, where he finished fifth, as Mercedes again failed to produce a car to challenge the top three, but Rosberg proved remarkably consistent, with just two DNFs – neither of which were his fault – and three non-scoring results. The results also belie some of his early-race performances, including spells running at the front in both Turkey and, after a blistering getaway, Belgium.

He was linked with Ferrari at the start of the 'silly season', but the 26-year old instead inked an extension to his deal with the Three-Pointed Star that will keep him at Brackley for the foreseeable future.

F1 Driver of the Year Top 10:

I am personally a big fan of NR. Sure he doesn't show the aggressive style as LH, or runs away from the pack like SV does, but he does what you want in a race car driver, bring the car home and scores points on a regular basis for the team. There are times when I see him in battles, where I feel he gives up too easily, but then again, that could be wise thinking on his part to just not kill lap time or tire life battling another car. Given the right machine I feel he could be a race winner and possible WDC. He has proven he is best of the rest (outside of RBR, Ferrari, McL) for the past 2 years now.

Can someone PLEASE provide some evidence that the car was ever either changed to suit Schumacher or was designed around him. Just one tiny quote or article that shows this is the case please. Loads of nonsense.
