Ferrari extends Rigon agreement

Davide Rigon signs a new development driver deal with Ferrari
Ferrari has announced an extension of its agreement with GP2 racer Davide Rigon for the next two seasons.

Rigon took up a development driver role with the team last season and conducted aerodynamic testing of the 150° Italia at the Vairano circuit during the run-up to the opening rounds of the year.

The Italian was set to compete in GP2 with Coloni last season only to suffer leg injuries in a heavy accident in Istanbul but has now had his deal with Ferrari extended; the team revealing that he will be 'on call for the team for all racing and promotional activities for the 2012 and 2013 seasons'.

“I am very happy to have extended my connection to the most important team in Formula 1,” Rigon said. “This is a great boost for my future after what was a difficult 2011.

"Ferrari always stood by me in the most difficult moments of my recovery after my accident last May and I hope to be able to repay them for the faith they showed in me.”
