Scuderia Toro Rosso has become the latest F1 team to announce the first scheduled appearance of its 2012 contender, and is expected to be followed the remainder of its rivals as the opening test session draws nearer.

To date, only Caterham has revealed what its new car will look like, but a welter of releases are already due to take place between Wednesday's McLaren unveiling (1 February) and the first day of track action in Jerez next Tuesday (7 February). Toro Rosso is the eighth team to confirm a date for its launch, although prospective times have recently been mooted for both Williams and Mercedes.

The wraps will come off the STR7 on Monday (6 February) as Toro Rosso joins those other teams planning to use the Jerez pit-lane as the backdrop to its launch. The Italian team will wait until the comparatively late hour of half past five local time to unveil its challenger, however, with both Sauber and Red Bull having opted for the same day and venue.

Once the obligatory photocall and pleasantries are over, team principal Franz Tost, technical director Giorgio Ascanelli and the all-new driver line-up of Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne will face questions from the media in the team's hospitality unit. Representatives from sponsor Cepsa will also be available, suggesting an increased presence for the Spanish oil concern, which joined the team in 2011. The car will then get its first run, in Ricciardo's hands, on Tuesday.

For the record, Ferrari and Force India will follow McLaren by launching their cars at Maranello and Silverstone respectively on Friday (3 February), while Williams and Mercedes are rumoured to be considering 5 February and 21 February respectively.
