Ferrari has confirmed that Felipe Massa will get the chance to sample its new 2012 car first when testing gets underway at Jerez.

The Brazilian will drive the car for the first two days of the test before handing over to Fernando Alonso, with the Spaniard then getting to run on the first two days of the second test in Barcelona.

The final test, also to be held at Catalunya, will see Massa drive on the first two days before Alonso's complete Ferrari's pre-season running.

Confirmation of Ferrari's plans for the three tests comes as its drivers prepare for the new campaign with a training camp in Lanzarote.

Alonso and Massa were joined by development drivers Jules Bianchi and Davide Rigon for the camp, which Ferrari insisted was 'not only aimed at improving physical condition, which is absolutely vital in a demanding sport like Formula 1, but it was also an important exercise in team building, both because the competitive nature inherent in all the drivers spurred them to work even harder and in the right spirit and also because, spending time together reinforces the friendship between them'.

Ferrari will launch its new car on Friday at Maranello.
