Massa warned to raise game

Felipe Massa is told once again to raise his game by Ferrari in F1 2012
Felipe Massa has once again been warned to raise his game if he wants to remain with Ferrari beyond the current season.

The Brazilian has endured a difficult spell since returning to the sport after his accident in Hungary back in 2009 and failed to even finish on the podium last season.

That led to speculation about Massa's future within the team and speaking during the launch of the new F2012 at Maranello, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo made it clear that Massa has to improve during the year ahead.

“He knows as much as we know that he has to do something great, something better after a not-so-positive season," he said. "We are offering him the best conditions to do a great job."

Massa himself said he was motivated about the job at hand and was chasing a return to the top step of the podium for the first time since the 2008 campaign.

"Let me tell you that it looks very aggressive, it was something that was part of my dreams," he said of the new car. "It's a very important year for me and the whole team of course; 2012, this is going to be the victory year. We are going to fight to get the championship back.

"I really feel focused on winning. There are positive things in my head and I want to finish the championship in a better way."
