PICS: F1 2012 begins at Jerez

See images from the first pre-season test of the 2012 F1 campaign from Jerez
After a raft of launches, F1 2012 has burst into life with cars on track for the opening test of the year at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

Eleven of the twelve teams are present for the four-day test, with only Marussia Racing electing to miss the first opportunity of the year to head onto the circuit.

Of the eleven teams present, only Mercedes and HRT are running 2011-spec cars, with the remaining nine all debuting the new cars revealed to the public over the past week or so.

Highlights of the test include Kimi Raikkonen's return to the sport with Lotus and the first appearance of the unique stepped nose seen on the majority of the 2012 cars launched so far.
