Mercedes W03 unveiled

The Mercedes AMG Petronas team has taken the wraps off its 2012 F1 challenger, the W03, ahead of testing in Barcelona.
More than a fortnight after the majority of its rivals unveiled their cars for the 2012 F1 season, Mercedes finally took the wraps off its W03 in the pit-lane at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.

The car, which has enjoyed a shakedown at Silverstone and a full day of testing at the Spanish Grand Prix venue ahead of this week's four-day group session, appears not to have followed McLaren's lead in its front-end treatment, as had been rumoured following the appearance of 'teaser' photos late last week.

Instead, the initial shot of Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg posing with the car seems to suggest that the Brackley-based team has gone down the route of having a step between the nose and cockpit sections.
