Sutil: Sauber would be good for a return

Adrian Sutil says he would love the chance to join Sauber when he makes his return to F1
Adrian Sutil appears to have thrown his name into the hat if Sergio Perez were to be poached away from Sauber by revealing he would welcome the chance to make his F1 return with the Swiss team.

Perez has been linked with a switch to Ferrari as replacement for Felipe Massa in recent weeks, with his podium finish behind Fernando Alonso at Sepang only increasing talk that the Mexican could be given the chance to jon the team next season.

That would free up a space in the Sauber line-up for 2013 and with Sutil looking at options to get back onto the grid after he lost his drive with Force India, the German said Peter Sauber's team would be an attractive option.

"I want to go back — hopefully very soon," he told Bayerisches Fernsehen. "You have to look around at where the opportunities are.

"I've always thought very, very well of Sauber, and this year they are doing a great job. They are one of the strongest private teams. Definitely that would be a nice place.

"I'm keeping in top shape and I'm very motivated. I had wonderful years with Force India, but now I'm really looking forward to a new challenge. I'm really ready — at any time.”

Sutil added that, with Lotus' Eric Lux having now forgiven him for an altercation in Shanghai last year that resulted in him being handed a criminal conviction, he was keen to get back into the news for the right reasons.

“That it would go on for this long, I never would have expected,” he said. "I'm glad it's over but most of the damage is already done.

"[However] in sport, people forget very quickly — especially in Formula One, where you're only ever as good as your last race."

Perez and Ferrari rumor is just in news. There's no suggestion Ferrari will sack Masa immediately and replace with Perez. Sutil will need sponsor if he wants to drive Sauber because Sauber need money to run its team. Perez comes with load of sponsor money. If Perez gone and then Telemex will go too. Also Perez has still make a lot of mistakes even 2012 is his second year in F1. So Ferrari will want to wait and see Perez development further.
