Eddie Jordan handed OBE

Eddie Jordan receives an honorary OBE for his charity and motor racing work
Eddie Jordan has received an honorary OBE for his services to charity and motor racing.

The former Jordan F1 team boss, now a pundit for the BBC, was given the honour not only for his work in F1 but also for his work as a patron for the children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent and The Amber Foundation – which provides help for the young homeless.

Jordan also plays with his band – Eddie and the Robbers – at a number of charitable events.

“What a wonderful moment in my life,” the charismatic Irishman said. “I am hugely surprised and greatly overjoyed to receive this magnificent honour, however it would not have been possible without the help of my family, the Jordan Grand Prix F1 team, CLIC Sargent and in more recent times the BBC F1 team.”
