Rosberg wins in China

Nico Rosberg converts pole into victory in China and claims his very first win at the pinnacle of the sport - and the first for the new Mercedes team.
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has won the Chinese Grand Prix, the third round in the F1 2012 World Championship, after a dominant performance at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Rosberg, who started from pole, led from start-to-finish, excluding the pit stop periods, and eventually took his maiden triumph at the pinnacle of the sport by over 20 seconds.

In addition to being his first win, it was also the first for Mercedes in the modern era.

Jenson Button came through to take second for McLaren, a slow pit stop near the end dropping him behind a gaggle of cars battling for the runners-up spot. Button's team-mate, Lewis Hamilton completed the podium, with the Red Bull's of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel rounding out the top five.

Romain Grosjean was next up in sixth in his Lotus, with the Williams' of Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado in seventh and eighth, while Fernando Alonso and Kamui Kobayashi took the final few points.

One of the best F1 races in a long time. Now that's F1 racing. Bad luck Schumi. It could have been 1-2 Mercedes. Hopefully, Schumi has a good race in Baharin. Can't wait for the next weekend.
