McLaren confirms no Hamilton test
McLaren has confirmed that it won't change its testing plan for the three-day session at Mugello next week despite suggestions from Lewis Hamilton that he might want to return to action himself.

Hamilton had said he 'needed to get back in the car' after his tough weekend in Bahrain [See separate story HERE], leading to talk that the team could amend its planned schedule to allow him time on track.

However, McLaren has now confirmed that it will stick to its original plan, which will see Oliver Turvey and Gary Paffett share the car on Tuesday before Paffett then takes to the track on Wednesday.

GP2 racer Turvey will then complete the test session when he conducts the final day of running on Thursday.

The ethic at Mclaren seems to be whatever we do lets not help Lewis improve his position.

Lewis needs to get some metal and get himself in the car at the Mugello test.

It would be very suprising if Button and Hamilton couldnt learn anything from being at the upcoming test. They were suprised to find themselves behind Red Bull in both championships after Bahrain, not taking any part in the test leaves Hamilton and Button open to more suprises
