Doctors advise Ross Brawn not to attend the Spanish GP

Mercedes team principal Ross Brawn will not attend this weekend's 2012 F1 Spanish GP, after doctors advised him not to make the trip to Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.

Brawn, who visited a doctors' last week after not feeling well, is expected to be fine to attend the Monaco Grand Prix later this month. No details have been released about his illness.

Meanwhile, in his absence technical director Bob Bell will take charge, Reuters reports, with CEO Nick Fry and Mercedes motorsport vice-president Norbert Haug also chipping in to help fill the void.
