Maldonado keen to impress again

Pastor Maldonado and Bruno Senna seek to impress for Williams in Monaco
Pastor Maldonado says he is keen to try and bring home another strong finish for Williams in Monaco after his surprise victory last time out in Spain.

The Venezuelan secured his maiden win at Catalunya to take Williams to the top of the podium for the first time in eight years, giving the team a huge boost heading into the biggest event on the calendar.

Maldonado has performed strongly on the streets of Monaco in the past, winning twice in GP2, and he said he keen to try and build on his Spanish win to secure more solid points for the Grove-based team.

“Monaco is a very challenging circuit for the drivers both physically and mentality because you have to concentrate fully at all times, but I really enjoy this challenge and I have traditionally done well here in the past,” he said.

“I am full of confidence after my win at the last race so I go to Monaco with high hopes of getting another strong result for the team.”

Team-mate Bruno Senna has also won on the streets of Monaco in the past and said he was also hopeful of a strong weekend.

“Monaco is one of my favourite tracks because despite being a street circuit it has a lot of flow to it and when you get dialled in you can put in some good laps,” he said. “I have performed well there in the past and hopefully that trend will continue this weekend and we can get some good points.”
