Austin considering extra grandstands

Grandstand seating could be increased at the Circuit of the Americas to meet demand from F1 fans
Organisers of the US Grand Prix at the new Circuit of the Americas venue in Austin, Texas have revealed that they are considering adding additional grandstands because of the demand for tickets.

Fans have rushed to snap up tickets for the first race, which is due to take place in November, with some grandstand seats which went up for sale last week having already sold out.

While general admission passes are still available, the venue is now looking into the possibility of adding more reserved seating to meet demand.

"We have experienced incredible demand for reserved grandstand seating tickets, and customers have quickly purchased our available inventory," Julie Loignon, COTA's vice president of public and community relations told the Statesman. "As such, we are considering installing more reserved seats between turns nine and ten and between turns eleven and twelve in place of other types of seating that had been planned for those areas.

"We will release more information about new grandstand inventory and when additional reserved seats might be available for purchase as soon as possible. We are extremely pleased with how things are going overall, since our public ticket sales began less than a week ago."

Well, two days after ticket sales started on F1 Sunday, I could only get tickets to the Turn 5 grandstand, easily the poorest of the gs locations. Price not even a consideration. By day 4 only ga tickets available Hope if new seating is created, current reserved holders get a chance to exchange for a $ premium if better locations open. Interest is very high for this venue!
