Hamilton excited with upgrades

Lewis Hamilton says he is excited to try the upgrades planned by McLaren for this weekend's British Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton says he is excited by upgrades that are to be introduced by McLaren for the British Grand Prix this weekend at Silverstone.

Hamilton will hope for better luck on home soil that at Valencia last time out, where he failed to score for the first time this season after a clash with Pastor Maldonado in the closing stages saw him retire while running in third place.

That leaves the Briton 23 points off the championship lead ahead of this weekend's race but with McLaren bringing a series of upgrades into the event, Hamilton said he was excited about his chances.

"We definitely have some upgrades so I'm really, really excited to see how it behaves on the car and if they actually deliver what we think they're going to deliver," he said. "I don't know whether it's as big as they [Red Bull] bought in the last race but who knows? I think our car generally goes a bit better at high-speed circuits than it does at low-speed circuits, so fingers crossed it will be a little bit stronger this weekend."

While the retirement in Valencia has hit Hamilton's championship challenge, he said his approach to racing wouldn't change – despite some suggestions that the Brit should take a different attitude to his racing in order to make up the points lost in Spain.

"I haven't changed anything from the beginning of the season,” he said. “Everything's still the same and of course things don't always go to plan but that's life. I'm excited now that we have another race, and we have so many races ahead of us that we have still got plenty of opportunity to continue fighting for this championship. That's what's so exciting and again that's what racing is all about."

This story is abt upgrades on the mclaren for the upcoming race, how its turned into the typical 'Lulu' bashing at every opportunity only some very sick people themselves will understand. F1 drivers don't all have to be the same. Lewis is a person of color with part Caribean decent and perhaps culturally inclined differently so, accept him as he is, infact many people like him for being different. And just because you are a racing driver it doesn't mean your role model must be an old former champion, how shallow is that.

@ richard U are really showing your age bro. U need to stay away from this topic. You don't even know who these people are. Hamilton is a little younger than me. Tupac & Jay-Z are my generation I'm in my 30's. Jay-Z is married to Beyonce and is a multimillionaire rapper/mogul. He is nothing to sneeze at believe me. Don't make derogatory comments to things u don't know about. Do an investigation first (google it). No disrespect.
