Glock happy to be heading for break

Timo Glock is not having an easy time of it in 2012, and it shows in his reaction to another disappointing weekend in Hungary.

F1's summer break probably could not have come at a better time for beleaguered Marussia driver Timo Glock, who appears to have hit a rocky patch in his relationships with both the MR01 and team-mate Charles Pic.

Rumours of unrest began emanating after last weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, and confirmation of Glock's growing dissatisfaction have now appeared in print, with the German lamenting Marussia's lack of progress and slamming Pic's qualifying etiquette.

Since missing the Grand Prix of Europe with a stomach virus, Glock has finished 18th, 22nd and 21st in Britain, Germany and Hungary. While the results are not unexpected for the minnow Marussia team, the German has come home behind Pic in each of the last two rounds, and told Auto Motor und Sport that he was losing both confidence and patience with the team after a stripdown discovered worn suspension points and problems with the brakes

"I had hoped that we could get closer but, right now, that is not the case - the car is currently undriveable, and we do not know what [the problem] is," Glock sighed, frustrated that Marussia is no closer to the midfield and still battling HRT despite linking up with McLaren over the winter, "I always have oversteer, and am permanently locking the wheels. At the last round, you had to turn five times to get around the corner. I just can not go as fast around a corner as [Pic] does. I've tried it, but it makes no difference. He's got the car where he can place it where he wants it, but I brake, oversteer, countersteer and must re-adjust to turn again. Then I am too fast in the corner, because I have to release the brakes. It's impossible...."

Any hopes of Glock working together with his team-mate in order to improve the situation also appear unlikely after the German criticised the rookie for blocking him at Budapest.

"Maybe he doesn't understand the English on the radio," an angry Glock was quoted as telling Germany's SID news agency, "It's pointless [talking to Pic] - it has happened for the second or third time, so it's up to the team to solve it."

A computer engineering firm where a friend of mine worked, decided one fine day to fire him, but my friend had a contract, so if they fired him, the company wud have to pay him a substantial amount. So instead, they slowly but steadily took away all his responsibilites and zeroed his presence in all meeting, all this within a month. Next, he was 'assigned' to something that not even a trainee wud deem fit nor challenging to work in. In 2months flat, the friend got so frustrated with his future that he simply found another offer elsewhere and quit his job. MORAL-OF-THE-STORY: When a company, F1 or otherwise, need to break a contract without shelling out the money for doing so, dont fire the employee, just give him sub-standard resources/project and make him feel bad to himself and others!...he will simply leave by himself. dont agree? Just ask Nick heidfeld or Rubens Barichello!

I personally think Jerome Dambrosio was better. Given that all his teammates are bringing in sponsorship maybe part of that money is going into developing their cars. But Timo has always had a salary. Maybe he got too comfortable. Better start performing Timo ,with Jean Todt as FIA boss and a french grand prix coming the french are on full assault on F1, Pic, Grosjean, Vergne, are strongly backed. And there could be more.
