Daniel Ricciardo says he thinks he will remain with Toro Rosso for a second season in 2013 barring a disastrous end to his current campaign.

Ricciardo scored his first points finish on home soil in Australia back in March this season but has been unable to replicate the feat since then, with Toro Rosso slipping off the pace of its midfield rivals as the season has gone on.

There have been flashes of speed however, with Ricciardo impressing with sixth on the grid in Bahrain, while the Australian has also comprehensively out-qualified team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne during the eleven races run so far and he said he was keen to secure his place with the team again for 2013 as a result.

"I'd say I'll stay unless the next few races go very badly," he was quoted as telling Motorsport-Total.com. "The qualifying has been okay for me, the races were up and down but if I can knock out a few races and remain strong in qualifying I honestly think I've done everything I can do.

"It would be good to get a season year because there is still a lot to learn."
