Liuzzi set for Silverstone outing

Tonio Liuzzi to appear at Silverstone WEC event
Having found himself without a drive in F1 this season, Tonio Liuzzi will turn his focus to sportscars this weekend when he makes his debut in the World Endurance Championship at Silverstone.

Liuzzi, who has been competing in the Superstars series since losing his role with HRT, will join the Lotus LMP2 team for the event and will share the #32 car with American racer Kevin Weeda and Briton James Rossiter.

It will mark the return of the team's second car after it only ran a single entry in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

“I am very happy to get the chance to drive at the 6 Hours of Silverstone,” Liuzzi said. “I know the track quite well from Formula 1 races in the past. But driving here in the Lotus LMP2 car will be different, for sure.

“I already got experienced with the car during some test days earlier this season and I can't wait for my first race in the FIA World Endurance Championship. I want to thank Lotus for this great opportunity and I hope to have a good result in Silverstone.”

@Zach Erm I know but I doubt he'll ever be back in F1 and it should be a sportscar article. There's no real F1 news though so I guess it's tough to find stories at the moment. Endless speculation about the 2nd Ferrari drive seems to be the favourite for most sites.
