Button wins in Belgium

Jenson Button triumphs at Spa-Francorchamps ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.
Jenson Button wins the Belgian Grand Prix leading from start-to-finish at Spa-Francorchamps.

Button utterly dominated the 44-lap race and made the most of pole position to eventually triumph by 13.6 seconds. It was his second win of the season and the 14th of his career, all on his 50th outing with McLaren. Sebastian Vettel meanwhile recovered from a poor qualifying to take the runners-up spot for Red Bull with Kimi Raikkonen third in his Lotus.

Force India's Nico Hulkenberg came in fourth, followed by Felipe Massa, Mark Webber, Michael Schumacher and the Toro Rosso's of Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo in positions 5 through to 9. Paul di Resta completed the points' scorers in tenth.

Championship leader Fernando Alonso failed to finish after getting caught up in the scary accident at the start when Romain Grosjean squeezed Lewis Hamilton. Sergio Perez was also taken out in that incident, while Kamui Kobayashi's race was ruined too.

@ Rossi joke, I am not a Hamilton fan, don't actually like him that much but what crack are you on, if you think Hamilton caused that crash you need to go and lock yourself in the basement, with Rossi.

My first impression of the start was... what on earth was Hamilton thinking - running straight up the back of other cars at the first corner and destroying so many drivers' races. On seeing the replay, Grosjean clearly moved right across the track and pushed Hamilton onto the grass. For once, Hamilton was the innocent victim here, so I'll gladly take back my initial condemnation and put Hamilton in the same bucket as Alonso in commiserating them in a race where their chance for a good result was taken away from them by the stupidity of others...
