Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali has defended
Sebastian Vettel as a 'firm but fair driver' despite insisting that the decision to give German a drive-through at Monza was correct.
Vettel was handed the penalty by race stewards after forcing Alonso onto the grass at the Curva Grande in a battle that was almost a carbon copy of twelve months earlier – albeit with the roles reversed.
The drive-through penalty knocked Vettel out of contention before he was ultimately forced to retire, while Alonso continued to finish third, despite his car sustaining damage in the trip across the grass.

Ferrari website, Domenicali said he was sure that Vettel wasn't trying to wreck Alonso's race with his move but insisted that the penalty handed out was the correct one
“It was a hard battle and I believe the Stewards' decision was right, above all given the clarification that was given out by the
FIA after the last Bahrain Grand Prix,” he said. “I'm also sure that Sebastian didn't have any intention of jeopardising Fernando's race: the German is a driver who is firm but fair.”
