Celebrating the greatest names in motor racing, Motor Sport
magazine has confirmed plans for its fourth annual Hall of Fame awards.
On Monday 25 February 2013, in the striking Paul Hamlyn Hall at London's famous Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, four more inductees will be added to the ever-growing Motor Sport
magazine honours list.
As a curtain-raiser to the motor sport season, current and former drivers and riders gather with glamorous personalities and familiar faces from the world of motor racing, paying tribute to those that have contributed to the sport's popularity and the adulation it receives today. Motor Sport
magazine is proud to announce that founder sponsor TAG Heuer continue their affiliation with the awards, the brand celebrating another milestone in its long association with motor racing - the 50th anniversary of the iconic Carrera watch - famously named after the legendary Carrera Panamericana Rally.
New for 2013, Motor Sport welcomes the Grand Prix Mechanics Charitable Trust as the event's official charity. Sir Jackie Stewart, the Trust's founder and also a founding inductee of the Hall of Fame, promises a charity auction on the evening featuring 'some of the finest things that have ever been created within Formula 1'.
“We're delighted to introduce a stunning new venue for the 2013 Motor Sport
magazine Hall of Fame,” Damien Smith, Motor Sport
magazine's Editor, said. “The Royal Opera House is an iconic landmark in London and it will be the perfect setting to welcome new members into our exclusive club for motor racing's biggest stars.
“The addition of a charity auction in aid of the Grand Prix Mechanics Charitable Trust, with items donated by Formula 1 teams, will make our prestigious night even more special. For a magazine with such a rich heritage, a partnership with a charity that does so much for the unsung heroes of our sport was an obvious decision to make.”
