F1 POLL: Did Massa deserve another year with Ferrari?

Ferrari officially confirmed that it will field an unchanged line-up for the 2013 F1 season this week after agreeing terms with Felipe Massa on an extended contract.

The Brazilian had seemed almost certain to lose his drive earlier this year after a series of below-par performances, with a number of drivers linked with his seat over the course of the campaign.

However, since the summer break, Massa has shown more flashes of the speed that saw him almost beat Lewis Hamilton to the 2008 title and in Japan he notched up his first podium since Korea in 2010.

What we want to know, however, is do you think the Scuderia has made the right choice?

Were Ferrari right to give Massa another year or should the Maranello-based outfit have brought in someone new, such as Nico Hulkenberg or Paul di Resta?

This is your chance to let the Crash.net community know...

Yes he does deserve another year. He helped Ferrari figure out the Unbeatable Structure by doing the donkey work. All the while taking the hits for poor performance.

I've thought for a while that Felipe is a pretty good barometer for the competitiveness of the Ferrari, with the limited testing, he has carried out most of Ferrari's testing during race weekends, often to the detriment of his own performance. The team may struggle to find a 'team player' to take over from Felipe.
