Sebastian Vettel has claimed pole position for the 2012 F1 Indian Grand Prix despite making an error on his first run.
The German had been second fastest in Q1 and quickest in Q2, and despite the pressure of messing up on his first flying lap in Q3, he calmly pitted and made his second run count - edging out Mark Webber in the sister Red Bull RB8 by 0.044 seconds.
It was his fifth pole of the season - and the third time on the trot Red Bull have locked-out the front row.
Lewis Hamilton meanwhile was 'best of the rest' for McLaren, 0.217 seconds off P2. Jenson Button will start alongside his team-mate on the second row of the grid, while Ferrari pair Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa are next up in fifth and sixth respectively.
Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen took seventh, with Sergio Perez eighth for Sauber and Pastor Maldonado ninth in his Williams.
Nico Rosberg will line-up tenth, as Mercedes opted not to set a time in Q3 and instead save tyres.
